Arovo case study
My Role
UX/UI Design Intern: Team project for Springboard UX/UI Bootcamp
Tools used
Notion, Figma (Research ideation, UI, Prototyping)
Timeline
January - March 2021 (12 weeks)
Introduction
I had the best Internship working with the Arovo team as a UX/UI Design Intern to bring exciting changes to the website. I’d love to share my process, learnings, and reflections through this humbling experience.
Projects overview
I contributed to the launch of 3 new end-to-end brilliant meeting agenda experiences during my time at Arovo. These were the three that impacted users and the business most (also the ones I enjoyed working on most).
Competitive analysis around the landing page
We could identify the best aspects of these landing pages: simplicity, background video, and easy navigation of brands without losing context.
Sitemap (short and long term)
Our other competitors in terms of basic functionality, leaving users feeling insecure that their actions will be forgotten; inadequate accountability
Users were turning away from Arovo when their needs were not met
Design and implement some of the top most important screens
Tried making the website have a more sophisticated look and feel, be more of a calling card for their customers, and be a recruiting tool for people considering a job.
Solutions
With the help of Competitive analysis, we could identify the best aspects of the landing page
Provide users with a consolidated space to easily apply for jobs and redesign and implement some important screens.
Experience gaps
Users were not able to:
Apply for jobs directly from the website.
Too much information on a page made it look clustered and did not convey the proper meaning of what they were doing.
Wanted user-friendly and accessible for more work opportunities for the company at the same time.
I see a career page, but how can I apply or check job opportunities?
— User 1
How can I collaborate with them or check more about their collaborations?
— User 2
So what does that mean for Arovo?
Arovo were following basic functionality, leaving future collaborations and users applying for jobs feeling confused and skipping that opportunity.
Users were turning away from Arovo when their needs were not met.
Results
We saw:
An increase in new users for signing up jobs.
What’s next:
Continue monitoring the usage and engagement of the added feature
Design concepts + ideation
Predicted user journey: Creating a new theme by adding a carousel, selecting a custom font, and choosing an appropriate yet aesthetic color.
Additional states:
Dark vs light mode depending on the picture selected
Highlighting appropriate words and sentences makes it easy for the user to understand and locate the appropriate key points they are looking for.
Future goals
What do we want for Arovo?
Our ultimate goal is to transform where everyone can seamlessly look and apply for a job and collaborate with wholesalers or users looking out for collaborations with the company and expansion without being overpowered by “so much information.” We want the users to enjoy the website without any information intimidating them and check the company website without the company or the user losing the opportunity
